Usdan is divided into nine departments: Art, Music, Dance, Theater, Chess, Creative Writing, Nature, Recreational Arts and Discovery.*

Each student chooses three classes – a Major, a Minor and a Recreational Activity. The Major class is two periods, the Minor class is one period, and the Recreational Activity is one period. Students choose a Major from the Art, Music, Dance, Theater, Chess, Creative Writing or Nature departments.
