Festival Guest Artist: International Contemporary Ensemble (12:10 PM, 12:45 PM & 1:40 PM)

With a commitment to cultivating a more curious and engaged society through music, the International Contemporary Ensemble – as a commissioner and performer at the highest level – amplifies creators whose work propels and challenges how music is made and experienced. The Ensemble’s 36 members are featured as soloists, chamber musicians, commissioners, and collaborators with the foremost musical artists of our time.

Festival Guest Artist: Kota Yamazaki (12:10 PM, 12:35 PM & 1:40 PM)

Born in Niigata, Japan, Kota Yamazaki was first introduced to butoh under the teaching of Akira Kasai at the age of 18. With the invitation from Germain Acogny to create a dance piece in collaboration with her Senegal-based company Jant-bi, Yamazaki disbanded his Tokyo-based company rosy co., which he led from 1995-2001. Since 2003, Yamazaki with New York-based Fluid hug-hug has been presenting work nationally and internationally.

Festival Guest Artist: International Contemporary Ensemble and MATA Festival (12:10 PM, 12:35 PM & 1:40 PM)

Festival performances take place at the McKinley Amphitheater. Via email and here on our website, parents and caregivers will be notified on which days they are allowed on campus as audience members. Usdan will also livestream select student and guest performances, which you can watch on Usdan's YouTube and Facebook pages and on our website.

Students in Dance and Music Majors will perform during Festival throughout the summer. You will be notified of which date your child will perform in advance via email and here on the website.
