Usdan Troupe (T1)
American Patchwork Quartet (APQ) is a groundbreaking project from Clay Ross, the Grammy-winning founder of chart-topping Southern roots music group Ranky Tanky. A native of South Carolina, Ross moved to NYC in 2002 and has since collaborated with artists as diverse as Gregory Porter, Cyro Baptista, Snarky Puppy, and Bobby McFerrin. Winning multiple grants through the U.S. State Department, he has toured worldwide as a Cultural Ambassador in over 30 countries since 2006.
Julianna DeAngelis is loving her first year as a Discovery Counselor at Usdan! During the year, Julianna works as a middle school English teacher. She graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Drama and Media Studies and is currently a graduate student at Queens College.
Rose Recce is a junior music education major at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where she studies vocal, choral, and special education music. Rose is super excited to be performing with the Discovery team today!
Prior to starting her career as an educator, she had a career of 8 years at sea working for Carnival Cruise Line performing as a showband pianist, music director, piano bar entertainer, and finally, teaching the shows on board as a vocal supervisor. Jess also music directed and stage directed shows outside of Chicago and New York in between cruise ship contracts. Moving back to New York, she taught a large private studio with approximately 50-60 piano and voice students while completing her Teaching Certification and Master's Degree.
Highly acclaimed mime duo Keith Berger and Sharon Diskin have performed together since 1985 delighting a wide range of concert audiences throughout the world. Noted for their exciting performance style and professional discipline, Sharon and Keith have been enthusiastically received by audiences and critics alike at theatre venues ranging from New York City’s, La Mama, to L.A.’s, Disney Concert Hall, from the world renown Edinburgh Arts Festival in Scotland to world cruises that have brought them to such far reaching places as Romania, Istanbul, and The Ukraine.
