Lauren Brandt Schloss joined Usdan in 2015. With her appointment, she became Usdan’s third leader in a half century and the first woman to hold the position. Bringing 20+ years experience in arts education, at the Queens Museum, MoMA, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Lauren is committed to ensuring that Usdan is at the forefront of educational and artistic practices.
“Oh, I wish Usdan had existed for me,” Dale Lewis said, with both a sigh and a smile, in his office at the Long Island arts day camp, which is unusual in both its name and its offerings.
The sigh, no doubt, referred to his Usdan-less boyhood. The smile may well have been prompted by his role for more than three decades as the executive director of Usdan (pronounced YOOZ-dan, and named for one of the camp’s founders).

Usdan presented "SmartMusic & Finale: A Program of Professional Development in Music Technology." The 5-day workshop took place from Monday, July 14 - Friday, July 18, 2014. Usdan’s workshop was taught by certified Finale clinician David Dolgon, and it covered the notation and composition program that is the industry standard in music notation software, enabling composers, arrangers, musicians, teachers, students and publishers to create, edit, audition, print and publish musical scores.
For more information about future workshops, please call us at 212-772-6060.

FOR Michaela Mahon, 15, of Syosset, a yearly summer routine of going to arts camp began back in 2003, when her mother, Joan, got a new job.
Get a sneak peek of all the fun to come at Summer 2017 Orientation.
New Usdan parents and students are invited to visit the campus, walk the grounds, and navigate summer class schedules.
Students: You will have received a schedule by that point (except Discovery students who will receive a name tag), so bring it with you and be sure to visit the studios where you have classes! There is a map on the back of your schedule to plan out your daily routine and meet the teachers you’ll be with all summer long.
