Faculty, Discovery Theater
Rachel was a camper at Usdan for three incredible summers from 1999-2001, and then a counselor in the Discovery program from 2007-2009. She is thrilled to be returning to the Discovery program as a theater teacher! In addition to being a K-3 classroom teacher for the last 15 years (NYC and Great Neck Public Schools), she has worked with students of all ages to create, imagine, and explore on stage in theatrical productions, and in drama programs and classroom settings as well. Rachel holds a Master's degree in Educational Theatre from NYU Steinhardt, and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Bank Street College of Education. She is passionate about the value of arts experiences for young people, and can't wait to work with Usdan's youngest campers this summer. Rachel loves to write, act, sing, and dance, especially with her four year old son, who is also very musical...and dramatic :).
