Poetry Reading & Creative Writing Anthology Release Party

Enjoy an afternoon of poetry as we celebrate the winners of our inaugural Poet in U Scholarship — Maya Khan (Senior Division) and Juniper Yarish (Junior Division)!

Hear from the 2025 Poet in U Laureates as they read their original works aloud alongside Poet in U scholarship finalists, honorable mentions, and judges — Daniella Toosie-Watson, Daemond Arrindell, and Director of Education Javan Howard.

The afternoon also includes the launch of our debut Usdan Creative Writing Anthology featuring works by 2024 Creative Writing students. Attendees will have the chance to speak with two members of our 2025 Creative Writing staff, Daemond Arrindell and JRose.

Plus, we will have an open mic for former and current Usdan students to share their words. Please indicate your interest for the open mic in the RSVP form.

April is Poetry Month. Join us in celebrating the power of language and the creative accomplishments of exceptional youth poets. Light refreshments will be shared.
