Festival - James Crichton, Kyra Leeds, and Spencer Glass (Faculty/Staff Performance) (12:10pm & 12:35pm)

James, Kyra, and Spencer met as students in the magical woods of Usdan. Usdan instilled a love of theater and learning in all of them. It also gave them a supportive network of friends that they each keep in touch with to this day (including one another). James, Kyra, and Spencer all went on to be theater professionals in their own right. See further credits below…

James joined Usdan’s theater staff in 2017, but in total this will be his 17th collective summer. As an actor James has appeared off-Broadway in Unknown Soldier at Playwrights Horizons & Jasper in Deadland with the Prospect Theater Company. He played Prentiss on the National Tour of Peter and the Starcatcher, and has appeared regionally in Botticelli in the Fire (Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company), The Taming of the Shrew(Shakespeare Theatre Company), The Last Ship (Pioneer Theatre Company), and Sweeney Todd (The Rev Theater Company). He is the host and creator of the podcast, Actors: On Process, and is on the faculty of LIU Post’s Musical Theater program. He received his BFA in Theater Arts – Performance from Hofstra University.

Kyra was a student at Usdan for ten glorious summers and has worked with Usdan’s administrative offices for the past six years while auditioning and performing. Some of Kyra’s favorite theater credits include Royal Caribbean’s Cats (Jennyanydots), Argyle Theatre’s The Full Monty (Vicki), Hangar Theatre’s A Christmas Carol (Christmas Past), and the REV Theatre Company’s Parade (Ensemble/Dance Captain).  Kyra holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College. Spencer was a student at Usdan for 7 wonderful summers, and is blessed beyond belief to be a director/choreographer in the theatre department here in these beautiful woods. Spencer is an educator/actor & business coach, and has performed all over the world. Credits include Come From Away (Goodspeed Opera House), The Full Monty (Engeman Theatre), Elf, The Musical (National Tour), Prince of Egypt (Dreamworks), Wringer (New York City Center), and Monopoly, The Musical (pre-broadway production). Spencer is a full time middle school theatre teacher during the year, and holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory.
