Age of Aquarius

The night sky and Usdan tree tops.

While you read, enjoy listening to the song “Aquarius” from the original soundtrack of the musical “Hair.”

Dear Usdan Community,

Typically, I neither read my horoscope nor follow astrology, but the current planetary alignment has contextualized 2021 for me as an exciting year for a creative community like ours. As the lyrics in the musical “Hair” expresses: “This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.” We are in the final phases of the transition from the Age of Pisces to that of Aquarius.

Add to that: Jupiter and Saturn aligned on the night of the winter solstice. This alignment occurs about every 20 years, yet, for the first time in 200 years the two planets met in an air sign, Aquarius. Plus, it had been nearly 400 years since the planets passed this close to each other in the sky, and nearly 800 years since the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter occurred at night. Now for the extra fun part: Jupiter will be in Aquarius for almost the entire year of 2021, while Saturn will remain in Aquarius for two and a half years.

What does this mean for us here on earth? These energies can inspire us to give our ideas form, to embrace our originality without fear, and to give birth to something unique. After a long dark year, I hope to energize your children and you, whether at home or at Usdan, to shape your vision, express your unique voice, and allow yourself to create something groundbreaking in 2021.
