Kelly Schulte-Smith has been with USDAN since 2017 as a lead teacher in the Art Department. She is fluent in metal work, stained glass art, warm glass, mosaic art and cement sculpture. She believes the best moment in teaching is when you have lit the fire of imagination and you can see how the student utilizes the materials to create their own work of art. She has taught at the LI School for the Gifted doing STEM push-in programs and taught art classes at local libraries. She also is an instructor at Plainview Old Bethpage and Syosset High School teaching Adult ED Programs in Stained Glass, Mosaic Art, and Wire Weaving Techniques. She has participated in Fine Art Craft Fairs on Long Island such as Gallery North OAS, East End Holiday Shop, Sag Harbor, Art in the Park and more. She is a member of the LI Craft Guild and SAMA (Society of American Mosaic Artist. She is a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) NY.
